Somaya Fazel

Somaya Fazel (she/her) was born in Afghanistan and moved to San Diego after finishing high school in Sacramento. She’s currently studying Civil Engineering at San Diego State University and is a Lead Fellow with Youth Will. As a young woman in STEM, Somaya cares deeply about leadership and helping other girls and women believe in themselves and their potential. In her free time, Somaya enjoys hiking San Diego’s trails, discovering new places, and staying connected to her community through volunteer work focused on education and public service. Her journey is guided by a love for learning, a strong sense of purpose, and a hope to help build a better future.
