Alex Castillo

Alex Castillo (she/they) was born and raised in San Diego, California. With a B.A. in Visual Arts Media from the University of California San Diego, Alex has written, directed, and collaborated on many independent and student films.

In doing so, she gained a love for creative discovery and for community, which turned into a passion for community involvement, leading Alex to her involvement with Youth Will.

She has advocated for Mental Health awareness, and protested the elimination of San Diego’s Office of Child & Youth Success. As a creative, Alex has also had two short stories featured in independent zines, and won a Silver with a Flash Screenplay Festival.
