Tasha Matthews

Tasha Matthews is a social impact professional, advocate, writer, and community leader focused on youth development, foster care advocacy, and systems change. A former foster youth, she brings lived experience alongside expertise in nonprofit operations, program development, evaluation and learning, fundraising, partnerships, and organizational strategy.

She holds a B.A. in Ethnic Studies with a minor in Literature and Writing from UC San Diego and a Master’s in Social Innovation from the University of San Diego. Her work has supported organizations serving foster youth and young people navigating complex systems, including advising students in Juvenile Court Community Schools. She is committed to youth voice and to positioning young people as leaders and co-creators of the systems that shape their lives.

Tasha has participated in the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative and RISE San Diego Fellows programs and has held community leadership roles advancing pathways to opportunity for youth. As a YouthWill Board member, she brings strategic thinking, creativity, and a deep commitment to expanding what is possible for young people.
