Maya Garcia

Maya Garcia was raised in the San Gabriel Valley and is currently in their fourth year at the University of California San Diego, majoring in visual arts (interdisciplinary computing and the arts) and minoring in design. They have worked at multiple community resource centers on their campus, focusing on outreach, art, and activism. Maya has held multiple artivism workshops, including using writing as a form of self-care and resistance, as well as sustainability efforts through creative hobbies such as patch making. She is passionate about educational equity and utilizing the arts to focus on representation and raising awareness on issues being faced in marginalized communities.
